Winter Weather Reads

Hi everyone! Since the weather has gotten colder, the time we can comfortably spend outside is limited. Being stuck inside makes it the perfect time to read! Here are some books that every reader will enjoy. I understand that everyone appreciates different genres, but hopefully this list includes something you find interesting. Please give any feedback in the comments below, and subscribe to my blog if you haven’t already!

For the dancer: American Panda by Gloria Chao

This is an uplifting story about a Taiwanese-American teenage college student named Mei. Her family wants her to become a doctor; however, her real passion is dance. In this book, you will find out what happens when you are faced with the choice of choosing between doing what you love and what your family thinks is best for you.

For the “cheesy” romance lover: Tweet Cute by Emma Lord

Many people don’t like the romance genre because the stories tend to be very predictable: two people meet, fall in love, get in a fight, work it out, and then they kiss. This is not a typical romance novel. Also, when I say “cheesy” it’s because the story literally starts with a war over a grilled cheese. You will fall in love with both Pepper from Big League Burger and Jack from Girl Cheesing as their relationship changes from enemies to friends to maybe something more. Tweet Cute also happens to be one of the books nominated for the Goodreads Choice Awards 2020!

For anyone who feels like they don’t fit in: Be the Girl by K.A. Tucker

Aria Jones just moved. She wanted to start over and become a better version of herself, but Aria never expected to hopelessly fall in love with the most popular boy in school or become best friends with a girl who needs a friend just as much as she does. However, some of her old secrets are uncovered, and Aria makes enemies as well as friends. If you are looking for a story that’s both relatable and a page turner, read Be the Girl.

For a reader who enjoys both action and romance: The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson

Lia, the First Daughter of the kingdom of Morrighan, is supposed to marry someone she has never met before to form an alliance. She wants to remain loyal and uphold the tradition of arranged marriage, but instead she runs away and becomes a fugitive. Lia enjoys her new life in a small village and makes new friends. Little does she know that right next to her is the prince she was supposed to marry in disguise. Not only that, but someone else close to her is actually an assassin who was given the task of killing her. The Kiss of Deception is definitely a book worth reading, and if you enjoy it there are two other books in The Remnant Chronicles trilogy!

For fans of The Hunger Games: The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye

Kill or be killed. That’s the choice Vika Andreyeva and Nikolai Karimov have as they compete against each other to earn the title “Imperial Enchanter.” Is this prestigious position really worth hurting someone you love though? Vika and Nikolai have no choice but to battle to the death despite the fact that they can’t stop thinking of each other. The Crown’s Game is a magical, fast-paced novel that you will not be disappointed by.
